Immersed in a true natural paradise, the 18-hole golf course (par 72) calls the game with challenging fairways protected from the wind and cooled by the shadows of the pines of Is Arenas.
Between natural dunes, a lush forest and four lakes, thus creating one of the most spectacular courses in Europe, both from the technical and from the environmental point of view.

Trekking
A trip to the rural village of Sant'Angelo takes you via a cartroad firstly to the building where Modigliani lived at Grugua, and then to the evocative Cala Domestica, after having crossed different landscapes with thick copses and deep canyons. Just as evocative, the route takes you along the waterfront at Buggerru on the Canal Grande of Masua, characterised by high calcareous cliffs. At Fluminimaggiore you can combine archaeology with speleology by following the route which leads from the Punic-Roman temple at Antas to the cave at Su Mannau.
Unforgettable walks are also to be found in the Linas-Marganai massif, where you can venture amongst the rich vegetation along paths once walked by miners and charcoal-burners, or follow mysterious tracks on the works inherited from the former Decauvilles, narrow-gauge railways along which the mining wagons used to pass.
In lower Sulcis, trekkers can discover a further paradise at Santadi, between the woods of Pantaleo and Gutturu Mannu, thought to be the most extensive forest of indigenous species around the Mediterranean. During the spring, the public walk "Incontro con la natura" (Meeting Nature) takes place here. -

Cycling
Thanks to the good quality of the roads, fun and sporting commitment is guaranteed on the elevations of Marganai above the impressive Su Zurfuru mine in the environs of Fluminimaggiore and Buggerru, where the gorge of Gutturu Cardaxius can be cycled in its entirety. The off-road trails from Domusnovas to Piscina Irgas and Oridda offer a landscape that is full of sinkholes and mines. On the San Pietro Island the cycle trails run alongside the cliff tops.

Horseback riding
Adventures are also guaranteed for horse riding enthusiasts, who will be able to explore the different sides of Sulcis Iglesiente on the back of a steed or donkey thanks to the numerous riding schools in the area. The landscapes vary from the dense woods of Marganai - Oridda to the bare countryside along the cost between Fontanamare (Gonnesa) and Cala Domestica (Buggerru), with rocks and bushes eroded by the wind.
Entire territory. Specifically: massiccio del Linas-Marganai, valle di San Giovanni (Iglesias - Domusnovas); monti di Fluminimaggiore; Buggerru coastline; low Sulcis hills (Tratalias, San Giovanni Suergiu, Villaperuccio); Pantaleo Forest and Gutturu Mannu (Santadi). -

Water sports
Kite-surfing, windsurfing, diving: these are only some of the sports on offer along the coast of Sulcitano, whose clean and crystal-clear waters invite you to discover the marine world and the beauty hidden beneath the waves. Kite-surfing, in particular, which uses large kites of different sizes which are easier to manoeuvre than a sail, allows you to fly at your will through the skies, thanks to the vertical traction system. A sport which is fun and easy to learn and which is offered in courses in the various coastal resorts. The best period for kite-surfing in Sulcis is from March to September, the best places are Porto Pino (winds NW-W starboard tacking at 25 km), Porto Botte (winds NW-W starboard tacking at 18 km), whose beaches have an authorised kite-surfing area, Fontanamare (winds NW-W with waves starboard tacking at 25 km) and Buggerru (winds NW-W with waves starboard tacking at 50 km).
