Reducing waste, protecting the sea: Nautica Assistance introduces reusable delivery crates

In line with our ongoing commitment to sustainability and the protection of the marine environment, Nautica Assistance has launched a new initiative to make our provisioning and delivery services even more responsible.

Each year, the use of single-use packaging — particularly cardboard boxes — results in a significant amount of waste and energy consumption, with a substantial environmental impact, especially in sensitive coastal and island areas. For this reason, starting this season, we have introduced reusable crates for deliveries to yachts.

This initiative, part of our broader Ocean Lovers project, aims to reduce the use of disposable materials while improving the efficiency and sustainability of onboard logistics.

The new crates are made of durable, sanitizable plastic and are color-coded by content type to simplify handling on board:

  • Red for meat

  • Yellow for dry goods

  • Green for fresh fruits and vegetables

  • Purple for assorted items

When delivering in port, our team will collect the crates immediately upon drop-off. For yachts at anchor, crate retrieval will occur during the next scheduled delivery or as coordinated with the captain or steward on board.

This transition represents a meaningful step forward toward a more conscious and environmentally respectful yachting industry — one that aligns with the core values that have always guided Nautica Assistance.

Your collaboration is essential to the success of this system. Each delivery is a chance to make a difference: through small, tangible actions, we can generate a real and lasting impact.
