COVID-19 UPDATE: EASTER IN ITALY AND SARDINIA

Covid-19

Dear All,

since last Monday 22nd of March 2021, the situation in Sardinia and Italy has slightly changed as per last government decree. At this moment Sardinia is marked with the orange risk code and all Italian regions are marked under different risk code range colors (orange or red depending on risk levels), but all Italy will be under red risk range code for Easter days.

Briefly the actual situation for Italy and Sardinia translates as follows.

At the moment and until the 06th of April  arrival in Sardinia (and Italy) for tourism purposes is forbidden .

The only way to arrive in Sardinia and Italy at the moment is:
  • for work reasons (technical stop or technical works, i.e going to shipyard; bad weather conditions)
  • health reasons
  • to come back home if resident

For what concerns Sardinia in particular, people authorized to arrive in Sardinia will need to do:
- Compulsory registration to the Regional Website "Sardegna Sicura" (like last year, we can take care of it for you)
- Swab test for COVID-19  (it can be PCR or rapid swab test coming from Europe; must be PCR test for people proceeding from E list countries and UK https://www.gazzettaufficiale.it/do/atto/serie_generale/caricaPdf?cdimg=21A0022102000010110001&dgu=2021-01-15&art.dataPubblicazioneGazzetta=2021-01-15&art.codiceRedazionale=21A00221&art.num=1&art.tiposerie=SG ) done 48 hours prior arrival is required OR proof of vaccine (meaning 2 full jabs declared on a certificate), OR swab test done within 48 hours from arrival, OR 10 days of quarantine.

As mentioned above, from Monday 22/03 until 06/04, Sardinia is an ORANGE ZONE (medium risk area) so:
  • National curfew will be active on the whole territory from 10pm to 5am.
  • Movement between regions prohibited, movement between municipalities prohibited. You can go out only in your town until 10pm.
  • The recommendation: "no travel" - it is in any case strongly recommended, for the remainder of the day, not to travel by public or private means of transport, except for work, study, health reasons, situations of necessity.
  • Bar and restaurants closed
  • Shopping centers closed on Saturday and Sunday - on holidays and the day before holidays, the shops inside the shopping centers and markets are closed, with the exception of pharmacies, health centers, food outlets, tobacconists and newsstands.
  • Mask on - obligation throughout the national territory to always have respiratory protective devices with you, as well as the obligation to wear them in indoor places other than private homes and in all outdoor places except in cases where, for characteristics of the places or due to the factual circumstances, the condition of isolation from non-cohabiting people is guaranteed on an ongoing basis.

During Easter period (from 03/04 to 06/04) all Italy will be RED ZONE ( High risk Area) so more restrictions  will be applied:

· Any movement is prohibited, both between Regions and within the territory itself except for work, health reasons, situations of necessity.
· Bar and Restaurants closed
· Shops closed, with the exception of the sale of food and basic necessities.  Newsstands, tobacconists, pharmacies remain open.

For all yachts intending to proceed to Italy and Sardinia from abroad or from those intending to move from one to another different region if already in the Italian territory, it will be possible only for given valid reasons (work reason) only with crew and NO guests onboard.  All yachts entering Italy will have to present:
- Maritime Health Declaration
- Free Sanitary Practice, depending on the country the yacht is arriving from
- In all cases, a Negative PCR tests results for COVID-19 is recommended, done 48 hours prior entering Italy.  In Sardinia now is compulsory.
- Compulsory registration to the Regional Website "Sardegna Sicura" (like last year, we can take care of it for you)

Please note that all the measures in place now are subject to change due to the unstable situation.

We really hope to have better news after the 6th of April.
