Asinara is a tiny uninhabited island (only 52 square km) placed on the North-West side of Sardinia and belonging to the related National Park. It is also a marine protected area (visitors are accepted only through local guides) being home for several endangered species and the popular albino donkey. The island can be reached from the ports of Porto Torres and Stintino by ferry. The Asinara buoy camp is located on the East side of the island and exactly starting from South to North: Fornelli, Cala Reale (Lazzaretto), Punta Trabuccato (Cala delle Barche Napoletane), Cala del Bianco (Ponte Bianco) and Cala d'Oliva. The buoy fields consist of a total of 64 buoys allowing mooring to boats up to 24 m.
